The 38-year-old will link up with Newcastle's squad at their La Manga training camp on Saturday, with his first match a pre-season friendly against Valencia at the Mestalla next weekend, according to Sky Sports.
Jaissle, formerly of Red Bull Salzburg, replaces Howe, who departed after nearly five years in charge. The departing manager cited personal reflection in his resignation statement, noting that stepping away was in the best interests of both himself and the club. Howe's tenure included delivering Newcastle's first domestic trophy in 70 years—the 2025 Carabao Cup—and overseeing two Champions League qualifications.
Newcastle simultaneously announced the signing of goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek, who will become the club's first-choice option between the posts.
Howe's coaching staff departed alongside him, including assistants Jason Tindall and Graeme Jones, plus performance personnel. The club's chief executive David Hopkinson thanked the departing manager for his "outstanding service and leadership," while Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes paid tribute on Instagram, describing Howe as the "king of this club."
The timing of Howe's departure announcement was held back deliberately to allow Newcastle to finalise the Jaissle deal before going public.

Backing Newcastle at short odds before Jaissle proves himself would be premature; early-season price adjustments will reveal how bookmakers weigh the new manager's top-flight credentials.
