Juve Settles: Vicario In, Martinez Dream Dead

The Old Lady finally got her man, or *a* man. Juventus sealed a season-long loan with Spurs for Vicario. It comes with an £8.5m option to make the deal stick. Convenient, right? Sky Sports spilled the beans.

Martinez, though. He was the *real* prize. Juventus wanted Villa's keeper. They tabled an £8.5m bid, same as the Vicario option. Villa shut it down. Martinez had a dodgy finger, too. Villa didn't want to talk. So, no deal. Poof.

Then things got interesting. Aston Villa shelled out a cool £29.9m for some kid named Zion Suzuki from Parma. A Japanese keeper, mind you. And guess what? Juventus had been eyeing him too. Suzuki lands at Villa Park, and suddenly, Martinez's ironclad contract until 2029 looks a lot less, well, ironclad. It's not subtle. Villa's planning for life without their World Cup winner.

Vicario, meanwhile? He joined Tottenham from Empoli in 2023. Apparently, he was already packing his bags this summer, with Antonin Kinsky moving up the Spurs pecking order. So, back to Italy he goes. A familiar face, an established keeper. Juve grabs him, no fuss, none of the headaches that made the Martinez chase a total nightmare.

Martinez, bless his heart, keeps saying he's happy at Villa. His agent, just last month, echoed the sentiment: focused on the season, blah, blah. But let's be real. Villa just dropped nearly £30m on a replacement. That's not a subtle nudge. That's a giant neon sign, screaming, 'Time to find a new home, pal.'
