Trossard Out: Arsenal Ships Belgian to Besiktas, Left Wing Overhaul Underway

Sky Sports reports the deal’s a clean £15.3m up front, with another £1.7m in add-ons. That’s Trossard’s price tag. And for that, Besiktas gets a man who turned out 174 times for Arsenal, bagging 36 goals and setting up 34 more since landing from Brighton in January 2023. A busy spell, no doubt.

Timing is everything, and Trossard's exit feels perfectly timed for Arsenal. They just snagged the Premier League title and made it to the Champions League final. He had a hand in it, sure: eight goals, 11 assists across everything last season. Remember that crucial strike against West Ham in May? Yeah, that one.

He's 31. His contract had just one year left. Arsenal's message is clear: cash in now. They’re getting back a decent chunk of the £27m they originally shelled out. More importantly, they're shaking up the left wing. Gabriel Martinelli’s deal is also up in summer 2027. Read between the lines: a full-blown left-flank overhaul looks inevitable.

So, who’s next? The Gunners aren't sitting still. Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers is apparently top of the list. PSG’s Bradley Barcola and Club Brugge’s Christos Tzolis, a £34m prospect, are also in the mix for a North London switch. Mikel Arteta, clearly, wants options. Wants more firepower. This isn't just depth; it’s a whole new attacking look they’re after for next season.
